Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

This page covers your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

The short version

FriendsWithTools does not sell personal information, and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is no advertising program on the platform and nothing here to opt out of. The sections below explain what those terms mean, who does receive data and why, and how to exercise your other California privacy rights.

What "sell or share" means under CCPA/CPRA

Under California law, "selling" personal information means exchanging it for money or other valuable consideration. "Sharing" means disclosing it to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, tracking you across unrelated sites and services to target ads.

FriendsWithTools runs no advertising and does not disclose personal information to anyone for either purpose.

Who receives your data

Your information reaches outside companies only where a service provider is required to run the platform: for example, hosting and authentication, payment processing, message and push delivery, and error and crash monitoring. Each provider is named in Section 5 of our Privacy Policy, and each processes data only to deliver that service to us, not for their own advertising purposes.

Your tool listings, group membership, borrowing history, and messages are never sold, rented, or disclosed to advertisers or data brokers.

Your other California rights

Independent of sale or sharing, California residents have the right to know what personal information we hold, to request a copy of it, to request its deletion, and to correct inaccurate information. You can export your data or request account deletion any time from Privacy Settings, or email us and we'll handle it.

We will not discriminate against you (in price, service level, or access to the platform) for exercising any of these rights.

Global Privacy Control

Some browsers and extensions send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal asking sites not to sell or share personal data. Because FriendsWithTools does not sell or share personal data for any visitor, a GPC signal does not change how your data is handled here. There is nothing it needs to switch off.
